The Fallen Hana Pendant

The Fallen Hana Pendant captures the ephemeral beauty of a bloom in the permanence of 18k gold. Hand-sculpted using the lost wax process, the petals feature an organic, tactile grain inspired by fallen sakura flowers. Artist’s Note: This piece was born from one of my favorite spring scenes in Nakameguro, Tokyo. I was mesmerized by the 'Hana-ikada' - the floating rafts of sakura petals drifting down the river (pictured further below). I wanted to capture that specific tension: the fragility of a fallen petal caught in the steady, constant current of the water. When I work the wax for these pendants, my tools follow that same downstream rhythm.
